There are also two web-based organisations that provide environmental advice and information to businesses in Oxfordshire, 'The Environmental Information Exchange' (EIE) and  'Egeneration'.

`NetRegs- provides free environmental guidance for small and medium-sized businesses in the UK. They can help you to understand what you need to do to comply with environmental law and protect the environment. Netregs have launched a new helpline which offers guidance to construction companies based in the South East. The phoneline, 0845 601 22 33, is open between 9 am and 5 pm.

Advice on energy efficiency

UK businesses can now obtain free professional advice on environment and energy issues over the Internet as well as from the Helpline on 0800 585794.

The Government's Environment and Energy Helpline is now answering questions and providing advice free of charge, on the award winning edie website, at www.edie.net .

Edie (Environmental Data Interactive Exchange) is an online resource for environmental professionals, researchers and all those with an interest in green issues, bringing together practical information and in-depth yet accessible news.

The helpline is run by two organisations, Envirowise and Carbon Trust. `Envirowise- to give advice on waste minimisation and cleaner technologies, and `Carbon Trust- to give advice on energy efficiency.

Preparing for the effects of climate change

Climate South East is a not for profit, regional partnership of organisations from across the public, private and voluntary sectors committed to taking action to tackle the causes and effects of climate change in South East England.  They aim to investigate, inform and advise on the threats and opportunities arising from the impacts of climate change in South East England and to promote adaptive planning in the region.
