Council maintained sewerage treatment plants (Housing Acts Works)

The Council runs sewerage treatment plants at the following locations in the district:

• Ipsden
• Harpsden
• Toot Baldon
• Nuffield
• Brightwell Baldwin
• Chieselhampton
• Penny Royal
• Moulsford
• Postcombe
• Rotherfield Peppard
• Russels Water

The Environment Agency monitors the effectiveness of our small sewerage treatment plants - also known as Housing Acts Works (HAWS), by taking samples of sewage at the treatment outlets.  We also test the samples they give us to compare with their results.

Cess pool service

The council no longer offers a service to empty cess pools or sceptic tanks.  Please refer to the local press or Yellow Pages.
