Latest news on our Local Development Scheme

The South Oxfordshire Local Development Scheme 2010-2013 (LDS) came into effect on 31 December 2010.

The LDS was approved by members of South Oxfordshire’s Cabinet on 16 November 2010 and submitted to the Secretary of State represented by the Government Office for the South East (GOSE) on 3 December 2010.  In a letter dated 15 December 2010 GOSE confirmed that the Secretary of State did not intend to make a direction under section 15(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 in relation to this revision of the LDS.  The LDS therefore came into effect on 31 December 2010, four weeks after submission.

What is a Local Development Scheme?

The Local Development Scheme is a work programme showing when the council will be preparing new planning policies for the Local Development Framework.  You can use it to find out which existing planning policies are in force and when public consultations on new policies will take place.

Alternatively, you can view the Local Development Scheme at our offices in Benson Lane, Crowmarsh Gifford.
