Dangerous waste

If you have any items that you suspect may be unsafe to put in your dustbin, contact Oxfordshire County Council  for free advice on safe disposal. Please note, if you need to dispose of asbestos, see our asbestos page, and our clinical waste page for syringe disposal.

Dangerous items could include the following:

• Garden chemicals
• Unusable solvent based paint
• Paint strippers and thinners
• Varnishes, wood stains and preservatives
• Sealants and glues
• Car care products
• Unknown items

Household and garden chemicals can be taken to any Oxfordshire County Council Waste Recycling Centre.

Due to lack of demand, Oxfordshire County Council no longer offer a doorstep collection service for these materials.
