Leisure discounts
Information on the Community leisure card which can be used at our leisure centres
Getting fit and healthy doesn't cost the earth thanks to the Community Leisure Card scheme. The scheme provides choices for all age groups with a number of options to suit different requirements and lifestyles. Best of all, once you join the scheme, your card is for life as the type of membership and payment can be amended as and when your needs change.
There are three options to chose from, the Loyalty Card, the Pay as you Go Card and Prepaid memberships. For more information on these options please go to the Nexus membership information page.
Free Pay as you Go Community Leisure Card
If you receive any of the benefits listed below and are a resident of South Oxfordshire, you can apply for a free Pay as you Go Community Leisure Card.
Benefits include:
- discounted casual activities (compared to the non member prices)
- discounted courses
- priority bookings- 7 days ahead and pay on the day
- speedy/online booking
- discounted/free first visit
- reward scheme
- special offers
- easy upgrades between membership types
Free Pay as you Go cards have to be renewed every three months with relevant documents (see below).
How do I apply for a free Pay as you Go card?
You will need to complete an application form obtainable from any of the leisure centres listed below:

Please bring with you the following:
- proof of residency e.g. council tax bill
- proof of receipt of the benefits listed below e.g. award notification, letter of entitlement, ES40 etc
- proof of date of birth e.g. driving license (if you are applying for a concessionary rate)
Free Pay as you Go criteria
In order to process your application, you will need to bring one of the following items with you:
- Income Support Award Notification
- Job Seeker Allowance (income based) Award Notification or ES40
- Working Tax Credit Award Notification
- Disabled Persons Tax Credit Award Notification
- Disability Living Allowance Award Notification
- Housing Benefit Letter of Entitlement
- Pension Guaranteed/Tax credit Award Notification
- Council Tax Rebate Notice of Entitlement or bill showing benefit (Not student/single person rate)
To apply for a pass for another family member, you will need proof that the benefit covers all of your dependants e.g. a letter from the DSS showing their names.
